Government of West Bengal has announced a scholarship named OASIS Scholarship 2022 for the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SCs) & Scheduled Tribes (STs). Backward classes welfare department and Tribal Development Department has looked after WB Oasis Scholarship scheme. Oasis Scholarship 2022 has divided into 4 parts i.a Post Matric to OBC, Post Matric to SC/ST, Pre Matric to OBC & Pre Matric to SC/ST.

OASIS Scholarship 2022 to OBC

The main goal of this scheme is to develop the education after secondary education. The students who have already passed the secondary examination and belong to below poverty line have been provided OASIS Scholarship 2022 to ensure their higher studies. The State Govt. has carried forward post matric scholarship scheme from 2003-04. The Govt. has decided to provide a small amount to the students of various post-secondary courses from any recognized educational institute. But there is a condition that annual income of the family must have been under 2.5 lakh.

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme to SC/ST

Main motive of this scholarship is to enhance education among the backward classes like Scheduled Castes (SCs) & Scheduled Tribes (STs). Those students who are unable to continue their studies due to money have got a chance to speed up their learning. Same procedures like Post Matric Scholarship for OBC students have been followed to provide this scholarship to the SC & ST caste. The Central Govt. of India has been conveying the entire amount given to the students. State Govt. has been given the liability to control the scheme. State Govt. has followed the central rules and pay structure. But in some cases State has provided more money than the pay fixed by the Central. The extra expenditure has been carried by the State Govt.

As the scholarship has been given to the students of various recognized institution their expenses must be different. The maintenance amount of some course after secondary is more than the normal courses. So the govt. has decided to divide it into 4 groups. The maintenance amount is also different in hostellers and day-scholar. The Govt. has inflicted 10 months maintenance allowances in a year. The structure is mentioned below —

Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme 2022

Pre matric scholarship Scheme is for the students below Secondary level. As OASIS Scholarship 2022 the same procedure has been followed for the Pre matric scholarship. Here the amount is lower than the post matric scholarship amount at 2022. It is nearby 1000rs per year. The main object is to grow up the interest about education to the guardians. It is also provided to decrease the drop out from school. The guardians whose annual income is less than 2.5 lakh is capable to apply for this scholarship.

Documents to be submitted for OASIS Scholarship 2022

For New Registration & Renew Application

• Income Certificate from a authorized person.
• Xerox copy of last year mark sheet
• The Photocopy of first page of Bank passbook
• Photocopy of Aadhar id [not compulsory]
• Institute Verification in a prescribed format.

Eligibility Criteria for SC, ST and OBC

• The student must be resident of West Bengal
• The applicants must be a students of Government, Govt. Sponsored, Govt. Recognized institution
• The annual family income of the students must be below 2.5 lakh
• The students have to get 50% marks in the previous year examination.
• The student pursuing studies from other state is not applicable for this scholarship.
