From the financial year 2019-20, the government of West Bengal has taken initiative to provide an innovative scholarship called ‘Oikyasri’ for the students of the minority community, which is spent from the annual budget of the state. The state government has decided to launch Aikyashree Scholarship 2022 (West Bengal State Scholarships for Minority students in West Bengal) project for the advancement of education of minority communities in the state and for the development of their socio-economy and financial assistance and encouragement of meritorious students belonging to the minority community. Types of Aikyashree Scholarship 2022

The state government has decided to provide three types of scholarships in the  wbmdfc scholarship 2022 –

1. Pre-matric Scholarship [ Class 1 – 10]
2. Post-matric Scholarship [ Class 11 – PHD]
3. Merit-cum-means Scholarship [For technical and professional courses]

Primary Goal of Aikyashree Scholarship

The primary purpose of the Pre-Secondary Scholarship is to encourage the minority community to send their children to school and to prevent them from dropping out of school.
The main purpose of post-secondary scholarship is to engage students in higher education.
The main goal of the Merit-cum-Minus Scholarship is to provide students with funding for technical and vocational courses so that they can be employed.

Eligibility of Aikyashree Scholarship

For Pre-matric Scholarship & Post-matric Scholarship

1. Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.

2. Must be a student of a board of education run by a state or central government or a school or educational institution under a university.

3. Must have 50 percent marks in previous academic year.

4. The annual family income should not be more than 2 lakh rupees.

5. Students studying outside West Bengal will not be covered under this scheme.

For Merit-cum-means Scholarship

1. Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.

2. Must be admitted to a technical or vocational course.

3. Must have 50% marks in higher secondary or undergraduate level.

4. The annual family income should not exceed two and a half lakh rupees.

5. Students who are residents of West Bengal but are studying in a listed educational institution outside West Bengal are also eligible to apply.

Necessary Eligibility of Aikyashree Scholarship

1. Residential and daily incoming students will be provided maintenance allowance.

2. Students must attend regular school.

3. If the student breaks the discipline in the school then his application will be rejected.

4. If it is found that the applicant has provided false information to get the scholarship, then his scholarship will be canceled.

5. Course fees or tuition fees and maintenance allowances will be sent directly to the applicant’s bank account.

6. A small amount of money (not more than 2%) will be retained for the development of this project.

Selection Process of Aikashree Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to deserving students on merit basis. In case of renewal, if the applicant has got 50% marks in the previous academic year, then he is eligible for the scholarship. Applications are accepted online through wbmdfcscholarship.org [Aikyashree Portal]. The application is verified by the nodal teacher of the school. Applicants are selected on the basis of specific qualifications. Scholarship money is sent directly to the bank accounts of the learners.
The nodal organization for this project is The West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation [WBMDFC].

Post Matric Scholarship 2022, Great Changes

Amount 0f Aikyashree Scholarship 2022

1. Student admission fee and tuition fee have been combined in ‘Oikyasri’ project.
2. The word “hostel” here does not refer to the educational institution’s own hostel, but to those who are paying guests or paying rent.
3. Maintenance Allowance is paid for a fixed period which will not exceed 10 months of the year.
4. The entire course fee is paid only for some of the listed institutions.

Aikyashree Scholarship Online Application 2022

Requirred Documents:

1. The applicant is required to provide a certificate of annual family income at the time of application.

2. Previous year marksheet has to be provided for renewal application.

3. A copy of the applicant’s Aadhaar card.

4. Print copy of online application.
